Printmaking Patterns for my latest books.

For my latest 4 books published by Templar Publishing, I hand printed all the background patterns at the fantastic Double Elephant print workshop in Exeter.
The little chap at the end is a left over ink mono print.

1 expensive lady, drypoint print

I had a brief try at the Dartington printmakers. It is just over the road from my home so I thought I'ld check it out. But it was too disorganised for me, especially compared to the brilliantly run and very inclusive Double Elephant in Exeter. Shame as the selection of presses where amazing!

Disqualified and Annoyed!

I need to moan about this... and perhaps a lesson to others. I tried to exhibit this Bear plus a screenprint at the Picturehouse in Exeter as part of the best of Double Elephant print workshop exhibition. I spent ages framing and preparing the work, following the instructions closely, including adding D rings. I'm new to this group exhibiting malarky and I was not allowed as my frame had only 1 D ring (and not the 2 plus string/wire thats required) I am so annoyed that such a small detail that I had no idea of has stopped me being part of this!

Chimps, large A2 monoprints

I'm showing and selling a few prints at the Double Elephant Print Workshop in Exeter as part of Exeter open studios Sat 6 & Sun 7th Nov 10am-5pm.
I'm there at the Phonenix on Sun afternoon, come and say hello.
Above are various monoprints. I cover a thin zinc metal plate in black ink, place paper over the top then draw an image.
That is the first print (not shown) then I work onto the plate adding blobs of colour and taking off some black (with a Q tip) and then print that, and so on...

Finally made it into the Double Elephant print workshop.
I not been there for 2 months as too busy with Kids book work.
Produced more bears ready for my open studio event.
