I had a brief try at the Dartington printmakers. It is just over the road from my home so I thought I'ld check it out. But it was too disorganised for me, especially compared to the brilliantly run and very inclusive Double Elephant in Exeter. Shame as the selection of presses where amazing!
Ooooh, lovely print! Dreamy...
ReplyDeleteThanks, At least I got one Ok print from the course! (and the money I payed for it)
ReplyDeleteJane it is a lovely print.
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Lithography?
Print workshops are very expensive you need to use them very regularly.
this is beautiful. thanks for following my blog ~ i love your work! i remember reading '10 in the bed' to my son and being inspired by your paintings :)
ReplyDeleteThank you.
ReplyDeleteHazel, I would love to try litho. The equipment is all there at Dartington but the secrets of the process are closely guarded! I will have to travel to learn that one.
Gretchen, I love your work, the garlands are very beautiful. I'm pleased your little one liked the book...wish I could turn my bed into a tropical island right now! (with a butler)Jx
Then next time your in Edinburgh book into the EPW and get Alistair to teach you, he is great!
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely very direct way of printing, I love the washes and drawing onto the stones.
Despite any disorganization, you pulled a fabulous print! Love the predominant use of black with the spare but bold use of color. LOVE all the markings! Gloria
ReplyDeleteNice print Jane
