A few more Character studies

3 juggling squirells

One upon a time,
before e-books, Amazon and the large corporate book shops, the publishers would say,
'YAY!' to a new book idea and a contract would be signed.
Today we're in fast moving and un-chartered book publishing waters.
(and things are going to keep rapidly changing by my guess)

Now my potential new book ideas have to go to 2 or 3 aquistions meetings
before I get to sign on that much wanted dotted line.
For my latest book Fetch there were 20 people at one meeting!
I think these meetings are a bit like the ones in the Vicar of Dibley!
I have never been a fan of design/creativity by committee.
And it's a super cautious one in these changing times.

So fingers crossed these, and the new story will get me a new book deal.

  1. But these illustrations are so delightful, they must say yes!

Do you ever sell original paintings or prints? That could be an alternative area to focus on, maybe?

By the way, I especially liked the sketchier version of the red-hooded character in your last post.
