Carna and I got lost yesterday afternoon on Dartmoor...
I like to walk without a map and just find my way except...
we ended up at a Grand Hall where a pack of scary angry dogs chased us away.
I stayed calm.(just)
More moor pics here.
Well you were very near me at Hayford......the second picture is at Cross Furzes and the start of the Abbots Way. They used to have dogs at the Hall....which some say Arthur Conan Doyle based his Baskerville Hall on, but they dont have dogs anymore, unless they had someone staying with dogs....hmmm but I cant think of another Hall close by.
lovely,really lovely !
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane, it is very magical up on those moors.
Deletewhat a beautiful place to get lost !- minus the angry dogs of course ;)
ReplyDeleteSounds a bit 'Hound of the Baskervilles'! Hope you didn't end up in the Grimpen Mire. Beautiful photos - I especially love the one of the trees.

ReplyDeletePerhaps they were ghost dogs I saw!...It was a Big farm house I came to, not a Hall really. I must have been very near.
